ECOCRETE™ Micro Copper Coated Steel Fiber

Ultra-high strength micro-reinforcement for crack control, toughness and fatigue life.

What is Micro Copper Coated Steel Fiber?

Micro Copper Coated Steel Fiber is a high-performance steel micro-fiber whose copper-plated surface enhances corrosion resistance and interfacial bond. Available as straight cut or hooked-end types, the fibers form a dense 3-D reinforcement network in concrete, reducing crack width/density and upgrading post-crack load-carrying capacity. Compared with secondary mesh, dosing is fast and placement is unchanged—ideal for high-efficiency slabs and UHPC components.

ECOCRETE™ Micro Copper Coated Steel Fiber is manufactured from ultra-fine steel wire with a copper coating, then precision cut into straight or hooked fibers. It disperses rapidly, bonds strongly with cement paste and dramatically improves tensile/flexural capacity, impact resistance and fatigue durability in floors, pavements, precast and repair systems.

Key Benefits of Micro Copper Coated Steel Fiber

  1. Crack Control & Toughness — Bridges plastic/drying shrinkage and service cracks, lowers crack width, and boosts flexural/post-crack performance.
  2. Extreme Tensile Strength — >2,850 MPa steel fibers deliver high fatigue and impact resistance under heavy loads and dynamic traffic.
  3. Reliable Bonding — Copper-coated, rough, clean surface provides strong mechanical interlock with cement paste.
  4. Uniform Dispersion — Micro fibers disperse quickly without balling; pump- and screed-friendly.
  5. Construction Efficiency — Can reduce or replace part of secondary mesh in many crack-control specs; compatible with laser screeding and large-area pours (cost and schedule savings).

Applications of Micro Copper Coated Steel Fiber

  1. Buildings & Precast: housing slabs, precast piles, frame nodes, waterproof/roof layers, basement structures.
  2. Industrial Floors: jointed/jointless slabs, seamless floors, pile-supported floors, garage leveling layers, composite deck slabs, rafts, plant roads and pavements.
  3. Pipes: centrifugal, vibration and extruded concrete pipes; pump pipes; steel-lined steel-fiber pressure pipes.
  4. Highways & Bridges: box arches, continuous box girders, bridge decks and overlays; cold-region pavements and airport aprons.
  5. Rail: prestressed sleepers (mono-block and twin-block).
  6. Water & Hydropower: abrasion/erosion zones, gates & sluices, spillways, dam face slabs.
  7. Ports & Marine: steel pipe-pile anti-corrosion layers, quay/jetty works, subsea concrete.
  8. Other: heavy-duty factory/warehouse floors, silos, repair & strengthening works, manhole covers, trench grates, underground cable/pipe works.

How to Use & Recommended Dosage

  • General slabs / industrial floors: 20–40 kg/m³ (optimize by trial for target joint spacing, load and curling control).
  • Heavy-duty pavements / bridge decks / precast: 30–60 kg/m³ depending on design targets.
  • Shotcrete / repairs: 25–45 kg/m³ (verify pumpability with trial panel).
  • UHPC / high-performance elements: 1.0–2.0% by volume (engineering design required).

Mixing sequence (cementitious): Aggregates → Micro Copper Coated Steel Fiber (dose gradually) → cement → water + admixtures → mix to full dispersion; adjust superplasticizer to maintain workability.
Design note: Fiber does not replace primary reinforcement where required. Follow the structural engineer’s design and local codes.

Packaging & Logistics

  • Inner Packs: 25 kg cartons or composite paper bags
  • Pallets: 1.5–2.0 t per pallet (typical)
  • 40′ HQ Load: ≈24 t (12 pallets × 2 t)
  • Lead Time: 5–10 days (depending on order mix)

FAQs — Micro Copper Coated Steel Fiber

A: Straight improves finish and pumpability at lower dosages; hooked increases pull-out resistance and post-crack toughness. Select by slab thickness, joint spacing and load.

A: In many crack-control applications, it can reduce or replace secondary mesh—subject to the engineer’s design. Primary load-bearing reinforcement must follow code.

A: Expect some slump reduction. Use proper mixing time and superplasticizer to maintain target workability; finish with conventional equipment or laser screeds.

A: The copper layer helps protect the steel surface and enhances bond. Good concrete cover and mix design are still essential for durability.

A: We supply COA / SDS / TDS with each batch and support on-site trials upon request.
