ECOCRETE™ Polyester Fiber

Asphalt-ready, UV-stable crack-control fiber for longer-lasting pavements.

What is Polyester Fiber?

Polyester Fiber (short-cut PET) is developed specifically for asphalt concrete. After anti-UV treatment it offers strong anti-aging performance, high fineness/strength, and quick dispersion. It shows outstanding thermal stability—no embrittlement and no deformation from −40 to 220 °C—and bonds well with asphalt to reduce cracking and extend pavement life.

ECOCRETE™ Polyester Fiber is a short, cut polyester fiber engineered for asphalt concrete. With excellent UV-aging resistance, high strength and easy dispersion, it forms a 3-D micro-network during mixing to reinforce and bridge micro-cracks—improving the mechanical performance of asphalt mixtures and helping prevent pavement cracking.

Key Benefits of Polyester Fiber

  • Asphalt Crack Control — Forms a dense 3-D network that bridges micro-cracks and improves mixture mechanics, helping prevent surface cracking.
  • Thermal Stability — Works reliably from 40 to 220 °C without embrittlement or deformation.
  • UV & Aging Resistance — Anti-UV treatment delivers strong anti-aging performance for long-life pavements.
  • Easy Dispersion — High fineness, high strength, and easy mixing for uniform distribution in asphalt.
  • Chemically Durable & Non-Corrosive — Excellent acid/alkali resistance; non-toxic.

Applications of Polyester Fiber

  • Asphalt Pavements: SMA, dense-graded AC, and asphalt macadam AM structures; thin overlays on old asphalt; thin overlays on old cement concrete; steel-bridge deck surfacing; toll-station approaches; airport runways and aprons.
  • Other Industrial Uses (optional): battery plates; specialty papers (wallpaper, seedling paper, filter/latex/clean papers); flocking fabrics/leather/paper/nonwovens; oil-well plugging agents.

How to Use & Recommended Dosage

  • Typical Dosage (asphalt, indicative): 0.2–0.4 % by total mix mass (≈ 2–4 kg per ton), adjusted per project spec, gradation, and binder content.
  • Mixing Method: Dry-blend Polyester Fiber with hot aggregates to begin dispersion → add binder (asphalt) → mix until fibers fully separate and distribute uniformly.
  • Notes: Select shorter cuts (3–6 mm) for thin overlays and fine gradations; 9–12 mm for thicker courses/SMA where higher bridging is desired.

Packaging & Logistics

  • Inner Packs: 1–5 kg PE bags
  • Outer Packs: 10–25 kg woven bag or carton
  • Palletization: ≈ 500 kg/pallet
  • 20′ Container: ≈ 10 t (≈1 t/pallet, 10 pallets)
  • 40′ HQ: ≈ 24 t (≈1.2 t/pallet, 20 pallets)
  • Typical Lead Time: 5–10 days

FAQs — Polyvinyl Alcohol Fiber

A: It offers strong bonding with cement, high modulus/toughness, and durable alkali/weather resistance; widely recognized as a safer, cost-effective alternative in many board and concrete applications.

A: With the recommended mixing order and proper water/superplasticizer adjustment, PVA fibers disperse uniformly without balling.

A: 4–6 mm for mortars and surface finish; 12 mm for concrete layers needing stronger micro-crack bridging.

A: Yes—non-toxic, alkali-resistant (≥90% retention), and weather-resistant.
