ECOCRETE™ Stealth Macro Synthetic Fiber

Steel-free structural crack control with a smooth, power-trowel finish.

Stealth macro synthetic fiber

ECOCRETE™ stealth macro synthetic fiber is a high-performance polyolefin macrofiber engineered to replace or reduce secondary steel reinforcement in slabs, decks, pavements, and precast. It creates a uniform three-dimensional network, improving flexural toughness, impact and fatigue resistance, and reducing plastic and drying-shrinkage cracking. It is non-corrosive, pump-friendly, and designed for hard-troweled finishes.

Stealth macro synthetic fiber is a geometrically engineered polyolefin macrofiber that disperses rapidly in concrete to form a dense reinforcement network. Compared with welded wire mesh or steel fibers, it offers fast dosing, no corrosion risk, and consistent post-crack load capacity while maintaining finishability on broomed or hard-troweled slabs. Industry product data for this class confirms its use in slab-on-ground, overlays, composite metal decks, pavements, bridge decks, mass concrete, and precast elements.

Key Benefits of Stealth Macro Synthetic Fiber

  1. Structural crack control Bridges micro- to macro-cracks, lowering crack width and density and improving residual strength and service life.
  2. Toughness, impact, and fatigue resistance Raises flexural toughness and energy absorption for heavy-duty slabs, pavements, and decks.
  3. Non-corrosive and alkali-resistant Will not rust, is non-magnetic, and resists alkaline pore water in concrete.
  4. Finishability and pumpability Engineered for outstanding finish in power-troweled slabs; compatible with conventional mixing, pumping, and finishing.
  5. Lower embodied carbon vs. steel mesh Using macro synthetic fibers to reduce conventional steel can lower embodied carbon; an industry EPD is available for macro synthetic fibers.
  6. Safety and handling Classified as non-hazardous in SDS for this fiber class; store dry and handle per good practice.

How to Use & Recommended Dosage

  • Standard dosage: 1.8–4.2 kg/m³ depending on design targets and local specs.
  • Heavy-duty slabs/bridge decks: engineer may select higher within the structural design basis.
  • Mixing sequence: Batch all ingredients; add the stealth macro synthetic fiber in degradable “toss-in” bags; mix 4–5 minutes or ~70 revolutions for full dispersion. If slump drops, use a water-reducing or HRWR admixture rather than extra water. Finish with conventional equipment.

Packaging & Logistics

  • Inner packs: 1.0–1.5 kg degradable “toss-in” bags for fast dosing
  • Outer cartons: 8–12 bags per carton; stretch-wrapped pallets
  • 20′ container: ~10 t; 40′ HQ: ~24 t
  • Lead time: typically 5–10 days, depending on order mix
Packaging and handling formats mirror best practice for this fiber class used globally.

FAQs — Stealth Macro Synthetic Fiber

In many crack-control specifications it can reduce or replace secondary steel mesh; final design must follow project codes and engineer approval.

This fiber class is engineered for broom and hard-trowel finishes; follow standard finishing timing and workmanship to avoid surface elevation of fibers.

A proven starting range is 1.8–4.2 kg/m³; calibrate by trial mix and required residual strengths.

The SDS classifies this macro synthetic fiber as non-hazardous; handle with normal PPE and store dry.

Replacing a portion of steel reinforcement with macro synthetic fibers can reduce embodied carbon; see the cradle-to-gate EPD for this category.
